Clara N. Gist's Obituary
Decatur- Clara N. Gist passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Moweaqua Nursing Home.
Clara was born on September 8, 1932 in Pine Springs, AL the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Humphries) Jackson. She married James H. Gist on October 29, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1985.
Surviving are her daughter, Jan Niesman (Bruce) of Decatur; grandchildren, Deann Drake (Dave Chamberlain) of Decatur; Marty Gregory of Decatur; great-grandchild Devon Drake of Decatur; best friend, Carolyn Reish of Moweaqua; 3 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren,and her dog, Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, three sisters, and a son, Robert James Gist.
Funeral service to celebrate Clara’s life will be 11 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL. In memory of Clara, memorials are suggested to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter.
She loved spending time with her family and little children, especially Luke Miller.
