Clifford L. Stogsdill's Obituary
Decatur – Clifford L. Stogsdill, 90, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Clifford was born in Decatur on May 2, 1924, a son of Albert M. and Minnie Ann (Burkhead) Stogsdill. A Navy veteran of WWII, Clifford worked at the Signal Depot for many years and then worked as a technician for General Electric. He married Marjorie Laura Whitney on December 8, 1946, and she preceded him in death in 1991. Also preceding him in death are his parents, son, Douglas, four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are his children: Susan (Michael) Donovan of Decatur and Marge Spurlock of Florida; grandchildren: Michael Paul Donovan, Christina Sue Donovan, Ruthann Spurlock and Jonathan Spurlock; great grandchildren: TarynAnn Donovan and Michael S. Donovan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery.
