Clyde "Butch" Ellis Worthey's Obituary
Decatur-Clyde “Butch” Ellis Worthey, 66, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Butch was born August 2, 1948 in Decatur, IL, the son of Clyde E. and Marietta (Miller) Worthey. He was a big collector and a resale person. Butch loved his coffee break at McDonald’s with his CB friends. Butch married Janet Hawkins on July 26, 1989 in Decatur, IL. They shared 26 wonderful years together. Butch will be missed and loved by many.
Butch leaves behind his wife, Janet; sons, Steven (Tanya) Haynes of Pekin, IL; Lesa (John Sr.) Gettings of Jerseyville, IL; Amy Stoneburner of Mattoon, IL; stepson, James (Tonya) Hawkins of Decatur; stepdaughters, Paula (Robert) Blankenship of Decatur; Kimberly (Erwin) Russell of Decatur; Angela (Duane) Davis of Lovington, IL; brother, Rev. Eugene (Judy) Worthey of Decatur; sisters, Sheila (Richard) Cairns of Decatur; Mary O’Dell of Decatur; Vivian E. Kiss of Decatur; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
A visitation to celebrate Butch’s life will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Butch may be made to the family.
