Connie was born on September 12, 1955 in Decatur, a daughter of Thomas B. “Tom” and Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (Cook) Brinkoetter. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1973. She married Kevin Ewing on October 10, 1998.
These are the statistics of her life but there was so much more to Connie. She was a loving and devoted daughter and sister. She preferred a quiet, uncomplicated life and enjoyed her home, husband, and all her “critters”. She was a loyal friend. In life Connie was humble and never gave herself credit for the joy and love she brought to the lives of others. In death she leaves a huge hole in many lives that cannot be filled. Her sense of humor even in her suffering was an example of her strength and courage.
Connie is survived by her mother, husband, sister, Carla Brinkoetter and her husband Terry Smith, brother, Tommy Brinkoetter and his wife Patty, niece, Alyssa, nephews, Adam, James, and Joey, great nephews, Emmit, Richard and Adam, brother-in-law, Kelly Ewing and his family, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Majors and Shelly Ragsdale and their families, special “niece” Jennifer and her son Kethan, and her very special love, Amy.
Connie was reunited in heaven with her father, Tom, paternal and maternal grandparents, and niece, Andrea.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Esparaz and to the DMH Hospice staff for all of their wonderful care and concern for the family during Connie’s illness.
