Constance A. Vaux-Day's Obituary
Constance A. Vaux-Day of Santa Monica, CA died on Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ from complications sustained from an accident in Flagstaff, AZ.
Connie was born March 12, 1948, in Estherville, Iowa. Connie was a 1966 graduate from St. Teresa High School, Decatur, IL and received her business degree from Santa Monica College, in CA.
Connie’s passion and drive excelled as retail store manager for Thrifty Drugs and her talent for people and co-works was extraordinary. Connie was known for her free spirit and witty humor; she loved traveling, family and friends. Connie found her soul mate at the age of 40, George M. Day. They married and lived in Santa Monica, CA for more than 20 years. In July 2011 they moved to Flagstaff, AZ. Connie lived each day as she wanted and lead a life which gave her joy. Connie, your strength is part of us now and will guide us.
Connie is survived by her husband, George M. Day, of Flagstaff, AZ; brothers, Douglas Vaux and wife Anne, and James Vaux and wife Tracy, of Decatur, IL; sister, Veronica Blakeman, of Santa Monica, CA; (6) nephews, Matt, Nick, Clint, Kyle, West and Colin Vaux; (2) nieces, Taylor Vaux and Lisa Blakeman and many loved aunts, uncles and cousins in the Gronthal Family. Connie will be sorely missed.
Connie is preceded in death by parents, Mary and Barney Vaux, of Decatur, IL; grandparents, Sadie and Earl Kruse; aunts, Vera Kruse and Elizabeth Robert and husband Gilbert.
A simple graveside blessing will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at 9 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery on 2091 North Oakland Ave, Decatur. Father Joseph Molloy will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to join us at site.
