Cory Carl Binder's Obituary
Cory Carl Binder, 47, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home.
Cory was born in Decatur on December 24, 1973, the son of Harvey and Jacqueline (Burnett) Binder. He worked as a restaurant cook. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making people laugh, traveling, cars, music, watching movies, and going out to eat. He married MaShanna L. Tatum of Decatur on June 14, 2003.
Cory is survived by his parents; wife; grandmother Maxine Gregory; children Jarell Whitfield, Cory Ghess, Jennifer Ghess, Kendrick White, Ashley Tatum, Mariah Tatum, and Maurice Tatum; siblings Coreen Hinshaw, Dawn Smith, Jeffery Binder; twelve grandchildren; special family Rev. Mr. & Mrs. White, Brenda Luter & family; and special friends Tricia Armour (Cohen), Tony Woods, and Harold Chapman.
Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Cory. Condolences may be left for the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church (1099 W. Marietta, Decatur). Following the service, join family and friends for Cory's Celebration of Life at 4pm at Flashbacks, 2239 E. Wood, Decatur, IL 62521.
