Curtis "CD" Daniel Popma's Obituary
Curtis “CD” Daniel Popma, 72, of Decatur, IL, went to be with Jesus at 11:57 A.M. on Thursday (02-26-2026).
Curt was born on January 4, 1954, in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert Doyle Popma and Marian Joan (Marloth) Popma.
He worked at A.E. Staley’s for 25 years and then worked at Decatur Housing Authority in the maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing, boating, Cubs baseball, Green Bay Packers football, mushroom hunting for morels, music, guns, cards with his friends, watching westerns especially Gunsmoke and the Food Network Channel. Curt also was a cartoonist, and loved the north woods in Big Round Lake, WI. He mostly loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his significant other, his special “Angel” Carol Ann Patrick of Decatur, IL; daughter Carrie Hardy and husband Chad of Moweaqua, IL; two brothers: Chris and wife Sharon Popma of Hayward, WI, and Karl Popma of Delevan, WI; one sister Mary Kay Popma of Chicago, IL.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
