Grubbs, Curtis Franklin's Obituary
Curtis Franklin Grubbs,71, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:31 A.M. on Thursday (08-15-2024) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Curtis was born on December 20, 1952, in Terrell, TX, the son of Thomas Franklin Grubbs and Margaret Sally (Rasbury) Grubbs. He married Dency Ann Johnson on April 16, 1992, in Decatur, IL.
Curtis was a Texan through and through! He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam with the Pacific Fleet. Curtis loved cooking, food, going fishing, playing cards, and traveling. He was also a jack of all trades doing electrical, plumbing, etc... Curtis was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Curtis is survived by his wife Dency of Decatur, IL, children: Christopher Franklin Grubbs and wife Holly of Sunnyvale, TX; Carrie Lea Flaniken and husband Preston of Gatesville, TX; stepdaughter Sunny Lea Taylor and husband Jeff of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Breckole and Sasha Stark, Chad Stark, Wyatt Grubbs, Eli Grubbs, Hunter Taylor, and Jackson Taylor; one sister Vickie Zieminski and husband Mike of Taylor, MI; and all of his beloved pets, past and present, especially Chance.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother David Grubbs.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday (08-21-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday (08-22-2024) at Garver Brick United Methodist Church.
