Cynthia Marie Luka's Obituary
Long Creek – Cynthia Marie (Tripp) Luka, 62, of Long Creek, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the University of Chicago Hospital with her family by her side.
Cynthia was born August 17, 1952 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Barbara (Camp) Tripp. She and Robert Luka fell in love and married on September 17, 1972. They spent almost 43 years together.
She was a devoted labor and delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 25 years with a BSN. She loved quilting, tending to her flower gardens, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was the most thoughtful, kind, and loving woman who showed us how tough a human spirit can be.
Cynthia leaves behind her husband; Robert Luka Jr. of Long Creek; daughter Sarah (Tony) Tudor of Decatur; daughter and best friend Christina Luka of Long Creek; grandsons Wesley Luka, Gauge Pasisinic(Luka), Colton Tudor, and Holly Adams; great granddaughter Raelynn; parents Lloyd and Barbara Tripp of Decatur; her beloved dog Patch; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her brother Lloyd “Butch” Tripp and her uncle Leroy Camp.
Services to celebrate Cynthia’s life will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Antioch Christian Church, 5409 Rt. 36. Visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Any memorials may be sent to the Luka family.
