I could not write on this until now . I will miss her so . Thank you Steph for calling me to let me know about her going to see Jesus . We had a long talk after she went to Dr and found out things were not good . I wanted to come back up to see her since we missed each other when we were in town on the 1st of June but you know her always thinking of others she told me not to make the trip because we had seen each other in May. Steph if you need to talk about your mom you can call me any time . We were all so blessed to have her in our lives . Praying for you all.

I remember Cindy in the old Tabernacle Church – always so involved in WMU and teaching kids as well. What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind. My kids were close with hers as well in church. My blessings and prayers go out to Gary and family. Such a great lady.

I first met Cindy and Stephanie when we were each volunteering at the Christian Activity Center in East St. Louis. It didn’t take long in talking with her to realize that we were distant cousins. We looked forward to each time we would be together serving at CAC. She was a joy and a light for Christ. She is a child of God and will be greatly missed here in this world but welcomed at her heavenly home. Much love to her family and continued prayers for their comfort.

I have known Cindy for many years but have not been in close touch for the last few but I will never forget her. She helped me as a young Christian in getting me involved in WMU and my daughter was with her in GA’s all thru her teen years. She was a wonderful woman and so soft spoken. I am so sorry for your loss but we know she is not struggling and longer.

I was very blessed to get to know Cindy these past 2 years at Harris. Although she was battling this challenging disease, she always focused on the children, loving them and caring for them each day she was in the classroom. We became friends in a short span with a common love of Christ and Kids. She will be missed greatly, but knowing Cindy she is peacefully celebrating with our Savior and those children awaiting the arrival of their families. I wish peace to the family with happy memories of Cindy filling their hearts.

Cindy was such a blessing to me and a help any place she was needed. Even after she was battling cancer, she didn’t let that stop her from continuing to do mission projects at church. She has “run the race, she has fought the fight, she has finished the course” and cancer can’t hurt her anymore. We will always miss you, Cindy.

I worked at Harris with Cindy for many years, but I defintely consider her to be my friend, not just my colleague. I have so many fond memories of her, but one that keeps coming to my mind is how the two of us would drive to Dairy Queen every Friday for lunch and order kid’s meals (with a large Diet Coke, of course!) and then we’d sit together in her van and talk and talk. I feel as if I know her 3 kids and all of her grandchildren because she spoke about them so often. Another thing she often spoke about was going to East St. Louis every year to volunteer with her church. Today in honor of her, I made a donation to the Christian Activity Center in her name.
