Daisy Leona “Peaches” Howell, 55, of Decatur, IL, departed this life and our hearts on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at her home.
The mortal life of our beloved Daisy Leona Howell began on January 24, 1970, in Decatur. She was the first daughter of Patricia E. Howell and the late Michael Howell.
Daisy graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. She was a volleyball player, an avid book reader, and very outgoing and popular with her peers. To know Daisy was to instantly fall in love with her smile.
The memories of Daisy Leona “Peaches” Howell will forever live in the hearts of her loving mother, Patricia E Howell of Decatur; children, Deatress Howell and Dean Lamont Stewart Jr., both of Decatur; brothers, Dan Archie of Decatur, Gabe (Cynthia) Howell of Decatur, Michael Howell of St. Paul, MN, and Destin Howell, also of St. Paul, MN; sisters, Monica Howell, Gia Howell, and Budda Howell, all of St. Paul, MN; aunt, Tina Hall of Decatur and uncle Thomas (Cristal) Hall of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Kámontae, Nolan, Tylan, and Aubree, all of Decatur; special cousins, Sabrina Hall of Decatur, Deborah Sanso of Red Oak, TX, and Tiffiany Motayne of Decatur; goddaughter, Leah Johnson of Decatur; special friends, Katrinka Elem and Lakeisha Walker, both of Decatur; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Howell; grandmother, Daisy P. Hall; cousins, Rodney Hall and Andre Hall; uncles, John Anderson, James Hall, Jerome Hall and David Hall; aunt, Wilma Hall; and special friend, John “Junebug” Green.
The family of Daisy Howell will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A Homegoing celebration will begin at 1:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Tracy Wiley.
