Dale A. Brown's Obituary
Mt. Zion – Dale A. Brown, 88, of Mt. Zion, formerly of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Heritage Health, Mt. Zion.
Dale was born July 24, 1931, in Illiopolis, the son of George and Elizabeth (Autchinson) Brown. He married Mary Lee Parker in 1968.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee; his son, Mark (Robin) Brown of Oakley; his daughter, Vicky Lambert of Decatur; a step-son, Bruce (Margurite) Read of San Antonia, Texas; a step-daughter, Sandra (Lenord) Stiverson of Ocala, Floria; his grandchildren, Michele (Justin) McCord, Michael (Nikki) Lambert, Raymond (Lisa) Lambert; his step-grandchildren, Renee (Anthony) O’Neil, Mary (Michael) Gurney, Mary Read, Nichole Harding; his great-grandchildren, Morgan Tipton, Victoria McCors, Ashley McCors, Austin, Trevor, Hunter, and Abby Lambert, Darren and Dale Fleming; two great-great-grandchilden, Brayden and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a niece, six brothers, one sister, and a great-grandchild, Melissa.
Dale served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of South Shores Christian Church, Macon District 8 Masonic Lodge, and a Decatur Shriner for many years.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Dale Brown will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation.
