Dale Capshaw's Obituary
Dale Capshaw, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Dale was born on May 10, 1930 to the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Biles) Capshaw in Humboldt Township, IL. He married the love of his life, Beverly Matthews on July 3,1955.
Dale was a machine operator at Mueller Co., retiring after 32 ½ years of service. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Dale was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served our country in the 45th division of the Army. He hauled 105mm howitzer shells for the 45th artillery battalion to the front lines.
Dale leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife, Beverly Capshaw; daughter, Leah (William) Carroll; grandchildren, Sara (Kenny) Smith and Katie (Aric) Lee; great-grandchildren, Caleb Pasisinic and Michael Smith.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Estes and Koran Capshaw; one sister, Irene Woodcock.

A funeral service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1 Bachrach Court, Decatur, IL 62526, with a visitation the evening before on Wednesday at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm.
