Dale Harold Winans Jr., 78, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Mary's hospital in Decatur, Illinois after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born September 27, 1943 in Vienna, West Virginia the son of Dale and Irene Winans. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, West Virginia and a proud veteran of The United States Airforce. Dale was a member of The Second Church of God where he met his companion, Beverly Eagleton. He made many friends and loved his church family. His sense of humor, quick wit and laugh will be greatly missed by all.
Dale was a truck driver by trade and loved the opportunity to see the world. He also had a great love for his German Shepherd dogs over the years. Turk, Dante, Durango, Diablo and Miss Dutches lived a life of puppy royalty. They were family not merely pets.

Children: Tim (Crystal) Winans of Taylorville, Illinois, Michelle (Kenneth) Burton of Tallula, Illinois, Shawn (Melissa) Winans of Harristown, Illinois:
Grandchildren: Jon-Michael (Amber) Winans, Corbin (Abby) Winans, Logan Harris, Steven Harris, Miranda Michel, Hailey Michel, Will Michel, Evan Winans and Mikaela Anderson.
Great Grandchildren: Mark Winans, Ava-Lynn Winans, William Woolard and Braylee Boyd.
Sister: Linda (Roger) Deem of Texas and sister-in-law Sharon Winans of West Virginia.
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, wife (Shirley), sister (Sheila), brother (Gary) and Grandson (Devin).
A graveside service will be held at Cerro Gordo Cemetery Cerro Gordo, Illinois on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00am. Pastor Mike Pritts will officiate.
