Dallas Hollin Jr.'s Obituary
Forsyth-Dallas Hollin, Jr., 1st SGT Ret., 50, of Forsyth passed away at 6:14 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Services to celebrate Dallas' life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Glass officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maroa Christian Church.
Dallas was born March 6, 1961 in Shelbyville, Indiana, the son of Dallas Hollin, Sr. and Wilma (Bullard) Spears. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army retiring after twenty-six years of distinguished service. Dallas served in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Kuwait. He was previously employed with USA Trucking and currently employed at ADM. He was a member of the Maroa Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, wrestling and rough housing with his sons, and spending time with his grandchildren. He married Viola Samiappan June 23, 1990.
He leaves behind Viola his beloved wife six days shy of their twenty-one year anniversary, children, Dallas Hollin III of Forsyth, Dakota Elbert Grant Hollin of Forsyth, Danielle Nicole Hollin of Beverly Hills, Florida, Derrick Jeremiah Hollin of Decatur, and Darren James Howard Hollin of Decatur, five grandchildren, father, Dallas Sr. of Osgood, Indiana, mother, Wilma Spears of Radcliff, Kentucky, grandmothers, Lucinda Hollin of Manchester, Kentucky and Nellie (Bullard) Miller of Greensburg, Indiana, brothers, Jeffrey Hollin of Millroy, Indiana, and Elbert Grant Hollin and wife Lisa of Osgood, Indiana, sisters, S/Sgt. Mary Redd and husband Michael of Fort Wainright, Alaska and Amanda Murray and husband Brad of New Point, Indiana, half brothers, Brian Hollin and Travis Hollin both of Manchester, Kentucky, and step-brothers, Donald Spears and wife Karen of Cincinnati, Ohio and Darryl Spears of Milan, Indiana.
He also will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Mani and husband Shanmugam, Sara and husband Baskaran, Ruth and husband Suppiah, and Devi and husband Surendran and brothers-in-law, Sam Samiappan and wife Ruby, Raj Samiappan and wife Alice, George Samiappan, and Jack Samiappan and wife Pushpa all of Singapore.
He was reunited in Heaven with his grandfather, Elbert Grant Hollin, step-brothers, Ronnie and Randy Spears, and mother-in-law and father- in-law of Singapore.
