Dana Michelle Pence's Obituary
Dana Pence, our precious daughter, has finally ended her battle with San Fillippo Syndrome. She joined her brother, Tommy Pence, who passed on Valentine's Day 2003 from the same syndrome.
Our Dana wasn't a world shaker, but was a heart breaker. All who met her fell in love with her beautiful spirit. Her big blue eyes and mischievous smile captivated and disarmed all immediately.
Dana was always an easy child for her parents to love. She never complained about how difficult her disease was on her physical body, day-in-day 'out, for twenty-one years.
Even in her last days, she gave you a smile with a twinkle in her eye. To Dana, 'Mommy and Daddy will always love you and miss you and your brother.' Dana's parents and family would like to thank: Franklin School's staff in Mattoon, CCAR staff on Vine and Harris in Charleston, Lincoln Rehabilitation Center's staff in Decatur, and Passage's Hospice staff, who helped Dana pass peacefully.
Dana was a gift shared with many, loved by all, and shall always be our little angel. She shared her love, with no limitations or conditions. Thank you Dana for your beauty.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Dana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. The “Flight Home” ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the gathering.
