Daniel Ray Bonnett's Obituary
Decatur – Daniel R. Bonnett, 51, of Decatur passed away at 8:36 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Dan’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Dan was born October 2, 1960 in Pittsfield, IL, the son of Raymond and Vivian (Jennings) Bonnett. He married Karen (Jeanie) Eckart. He was a member of the Hidden Valley Community Church of Decatur. He was employed as a machinist with Kopetz Manufacturing Company, and was a member of the Boilermakers Union. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1979 and attended Richland Community College. Dan was a devoted husband to his wife Jeanie, and he enjoyed fishing, science, woodworking, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanie, daughter Laura D. Bonnett (fiance John Maygard), step-daughters Lori Morlan, Mandi Morlan (Paul Hadfield), step-son Ryan (Kristi) Morlan, and grandchildren Kylar, Austin, Jordan, Alyssa, Ava, and Olivia. Dan also leaves behind brothers David A. (Johnnie) Bonnett of Allen, Texas, Bill (Lin) Bonnett of The Villages, Florida, R. Keith (Jana) Bonnett, of Pekin, Illinois, John W. (Debi) Bonnett of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Tom Bonnett of Forsyth, Illinois, and sisters Evelyn J. (Roger) Beard of Mooresville Indiana, Joan Bonnett of East Peoria, Illinois and Sarah (Herman) Gold of Naperville Illinois.
Dan is reunited in Heaven with his parents and son Christopher Steven Bonnett.
