Daniel Joseph Eckart's Obituary
Daniel Joseph Eckart, 68, of Decatur, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in his home.
Dan was born March 3, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Ernest and Mabel (Stanley) Eckart. He was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church. Dan was an avid pool player and known to frequent the local billiard parlors. He married Maria Concepción Pabalate January 8, 2018.
Dan leaves behind his wife Maria, daughter Deanna Jo Eckart, brother Larry Eckart, and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob, Bill, Jack, Donald, Rolland, and Ernest, and sisters Bonnie, Waynona Kay, and Nadine.
Dan’s family would like to thank Dr. Velasco, the nurses and staff with DMH Hospice especially Jim for all of their loving care, and his buddies from the hall.
The family will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 125 W Florian Ave, Mt Zion, with Pastor Rocky Woolery officiating. Memorials are suggested the American Cancer Society.
