Danny McClure's Obituary
Danny McClure, 31, of Decatur, Illinois left the world far too soon on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Danny was born on January 14, 1993, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Patrica Paul.
Danny graduated from MacArthur High School in 2011. He joined the Marines and served honorably from October 2011 through October 2015. He was assigned to the 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division as an Infantry Rifleman and reached the rank of Corporal. He was so proud of what he had completed during his Scout Skier and Advanced Infantryman courses. He loved having the opportunity to train Philippines Marines. He met Loree in 2019 and settled in Decatur, Illinois, where they lived happily for 5 years. He enjoyed playing RuneScape, watching Ohio State and the Chicago Bears football teams, and walking on the bike trails for clarity. He loved his family and friends so deeply, but his favorite joy was being an uncle. Anytime a cardinal is spotted, smile, for he has seen it too.
Danny is survived by his mother, Patrica Paul; companion, Loree Hunter; sisters, Ashley (Jordan) Walker, Nichole (Corbin) Anderson, and Angie (Brandyn) Springman; nieces and nephews, Bentley, Jaylen, Ashton, Amari, Kaydence, Kennedy, Judah, Austin, Dustin, Tristin; great-nephew, Kai; fur babies, Stella “Boog” and Butter; and so many friends, extended and “adoptive” family, and a host of brothers and sisters that were bound by experiences.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 24th from 4:00-7:00 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur, Illinois, with a funeral service to follow. Graveside service with military honors will follow at Camp Butler in Springfield, Illinois at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Til Valhalla Project or the Illinois Raptor Center located here in Decatur.
