D'Arbra "Darb" L. Sloan's Obituary
D’Arbra “Darb” L. Sloan, 82, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in her home with her family by her side.
Darb was born March 12, 1932, in Bement, IL, the daughter of Joe C. and Olive (McCosh) DeFore. She was a bus driver for the Decatur Public Schools, and a member of the Eckenkar group. She had a strong interest in health and driving kids. Darb married George Sloan on June 20, 1953 in Decatur. They shared 61-wonderful years together.
Darby leaves behind her husband, George; sons, Randy Sloan and his partner George Patrick Atkinson of Florence, KY; Wayne Judd Sloan and his wife Erika of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; daughter, Amy L. MacLee of Vernal, UT; sisters, Ruth, Marvel, and Anne; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one expecting great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Honoring Darb’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time. Memorials in memory of Darb may be made to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or to Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois.
