David Wayne Batchelder's Obituary
David Wayne Batchelder, 79, of Warrensburg, IL passed away on April 8, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer. He fought a hard battle, but was called Home to Jesus, and took comfort in the fact that he would soon be reunited with his beloved son, Eric.
David was born on January 4, 1946 in Decatur, IL to Clifford and Lillian Batchelder. He married his high school sweetheart, Kristine Dianne Pannier on August 6, 1966, with whom he shared a beautiful life of over 60 years together.
David was brought home from the hospital to the Batchelder farmhouse in Warrensburg where he grew up helping his dad, Clifford, and his grandfather, Charley, farm. When he and Kris were married in 1966, his parents moved out of the farmhouse and together, they raised their 3 children on the farm. David took great pride in his farm and enjoyed working on projects around the house, gardening, mowing, and making sure everything looked immaculate. Aside from farming, he also took great joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, boating on Lake Norfork in Mountain Home, Arkansas, working on cars, and being involved in church.
David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kristine Batchelder of Warrensburg, IL; daughter: Alicia Goroski of Denver, CO; son: Wes (Traci) Batchelder of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren: Ashley Batchelder of Decatur, IL; Aaron (Hannah) Batchelder of Decatur, IL; Connor (Madeleine) Murphy of Pittsburgh, PA; Alexis Batchelder of Pittsburgh, PA; Baylor Goroski of Denver, CO; Lillian Batchelder of Pittsburgh, PA; Brynn Goroski of Denver, CO; Jaxton Batchelder of Latham, IL; Haddie Batchelder of Latham, IL; Daughter-in-Law: Sally Batchelder of Latham, IL; great-grandchildren: Sebastian, Elyza, and Brandtly Murphy of Pittsburgh, PA; sister: Karen (Jim) Seefeldt of Decatur, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
