Uncle Dave was a rare breed, if he liked you, he would give me the shirt off his back if he didn’t you might as well just go ahead and go home cause he will pay you no mind. He did not put up with nonsense. He was a true man’s man. He was one of them men that was born 200 years too late, how was imagine Dave was a trapper in the northwest live off the land, but unfortunately, he lived in our time, but he made the best of it.
Me and Dave took a trip in 2010 where we drove down to Charleston, South Carolina, went to Fort Sumter, and got on a tall ship to the Bahamas. Dave got so seasick that I am surprised he survived, but the kicker was he enjoyed every second of it.
I was always grateful for Uncle Dave taking Henry to rendezvous Henry always looked forward to it every time he went and I knew Henry grew as a man with all the hard work in the stories.
Here are a few pictures of David at Fort Sumter and on the tall ship.
