David Eugene Taylor's Obituary
Decatur- David Eugene Taylor, 93, of Decatur, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 in his residence.
He was born August 24, 1919, the son of Albert Gilbert Taylor and Goldie May (Williams) in Tuscola, IL. He served in U.S. Army 1943-1946 in Pacific Theater. He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad as a Carman. He worked part time for Hazelrigg’s Chrysler Plymouth for 21 years. David was a member of Garver Brick Church. He enjoyed wood working, cars, an avid NASCAR fan, and race fan. He married Dolores Roberts on February 7, 1964. They shared over forty-nine years together.
He leaves behind nieces, and nephews.
He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Dolores, his two sisters, and his parents.
Services to celebrate Davids’ life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Garver Brick UMC, 5280 Garver Church Road, with Pastor Buzz Swett officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Garver Cemetery with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Garver Brick UMC.
