David Lynn Jeschawitz's Obituary
David Lynn Jeschawitz, 76, a lifelong resident of Decatur, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 1, with his family by his side.
In 2005, after 39 years of service, David retired from A.E. Staley and enjoyed his retirement driving for several local car dealerships and was quick to show off a garage sale bargain, another post-retirement hobby.
Described perfectly by a lifelong friend as having a “lion’s roar with a lamb’s heart,” David secretly loved pets, including his current fur babies Archie, Buddy, and best friend Tigger the Cat. They miss their dad.
David was a follower of Christ and was confident in his faith and salvation, so we are blessed to have him watch over us from heaven until we can be together again.
David will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years Cheryl (Bailey) Jeschawitz, daughter Amy Jeschawitz, son Shane (Melissa) Speagle, sisters Donna McCormick and Dana (Hanford) Chase, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, Goddaughter Katie and Paw Paw to her son Beckhem.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for David. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 8 in Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church of Decatur. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
