Mr. David Mayberry's Obituary
David L. Mayberry, 90, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
David was born February 3, 1930 in Decatur, IL, the son of Noah and Lucille Mayberry. He married Martha (Dalton) Ernst in 1975. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings Stanley, Howard and Larry Mayberry, Margaret Sawyer, and infant sister Betty.
David is survived by children: Gregory (Lena) Mayberry, Dalette Stowell, Tina (Gerald) Simons, Anthony (Andrea) Mayberry, Ricky Ernst, Richard Ernst, and James Ernst; a beloved grandfather and great grandfather to many; and siblings: Thomas (Mary) Mayberry and Charlotte Putnam.
David proudly served his country in the Army for 23 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. He did tours in Korea and 2 in VietNam.
Funeral Services to celebrate David’s life will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Camp Wilson Foursquare Church with Pastor Brian Canaday officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 –1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Camp Wilson Foursquare Church.
