David B. Senters' Obituary
David B. Senters, 63, of Decatur, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
David was born July 15, 1952, in Lawrenceville, to Ellis Clyde and Helen Genevieve (Baker) Senters. He served in the United States Army. He married Nancy Pinkstaff on May 3, 1974, in Powell, Wyoming. He received an Associate’s Degree in Metallurgy and Welding. He worked in sales at GJ Builders Hardware, Inc. as a hardware consultant and received his certification as an Architectural Hardware Consultant. He was blessed to meet and befriend so many wonderful people in the 30 years he spent working at GJ Builders.
David dedicated his life to his family, loving God and serving others. He was diagnosed early in life with ankylosing spondylitis. Most days of his life were challenging, even though he never showed it, but he lived to serve others in any way God called him to. He was always selfless and generous to those in need. If you were blessed to know him in life, he felt blessed to know you and asks that you not mourn him, but celebrate his life knowing that he is walking freely in heaven without pain.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Senters; two daughters. Dante’ (Jon) Purdy of Mt. Zion and Amber (Russell) Shobe of Decatur; five grandchildren, Faith Walton, Elizabeth Walton, Ryder Shobe, Randi Shobe, and Liliana Shobe; three brothers, Ronnie (Carolyn) Senters of Herrin, Danny (Bernice) Senters of Crossville, TN, Rick (Carolyn) Senters of Frostproof, FL; one sister, Gloria (Craig Buckles) Senters of Normal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring David’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. He has asked for no formal services to be performed, and asks for your love and prayers for his family in this time. Memorials may be directed to Northeast Community Fund or Arthritis Foundation.
