David Wilson's Obituary
DECATUR- David Wilson, 48, of Decatur, went home to be in the presence of Jesus, the One he loved above all things, at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009. David was in his home, surrounded by his greatest joy; his family.
Services to celebrate David’s life will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Life Foursquare Church, conducted by his friend and pastor David Catron, with visitation beginning at noon. Interment will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. David was born on June 15, 1960 in Decatur the son of Paul Arnold and June Marie (Pool) Wilson. He was a beloved firefighter for the City of Decatur for 20 years. David was an 8 year member at the Life Foursquare Church and with great humility of heart he served as a church Elder. He married Sonya Parks, “the most beautiful woman he had ever seen”, on April 15, 1983 in Decatur. With their cherished children at their side, David and Sonya celebrated 25 years of marriage with the renewing of their vows last April.
Surviving are his wife Sonya, sons: Jared and Keith, daughter: Cassy, mother: June, sisters: Paula Wilson and Linda Wilson Klemn and her husband David, all of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul.
Always praising God’s goodness, David was a man who loved his God through it all. He will be greatly missed. Because God called David friend, we rejoice to know we will be with him again.
