Dean Edward Rosborough's Obituary
Dean Edward Rosborough, born November 28, 1933 entered heavenly rest on August 25, 2022. Dean was the first of six children born to Walter and Erma (Loos) Rosborough, in Landes, Illinois. Dean and his family moved to Blue Mound, Illinois when he was a junior in high school. He played on the basketball team and graduated in 1951. After high school, he was employed as a signal repairman with the Wabash Railroad, and then obtained a job with Caterpillar, working in the plant before being selected for on the job training as a design engineer where he eventually earned a patent in the Motor Scraper Division, retiring in 1996. After retiring from Cat, Dean worked for a few years at Miles Chevrolet. He enjoyed working outside in the yard, attending church, and visits with friends and family.
He married Phyllis (Catlin) Rosborough on July 19, 1954 in Coldwater, MS. He leaves two children, Pamela Rennert of Independence, MO., and Kevin Rosborough of Mt. Pulaski. He will be missed by his two children, eight grandchildren-Stacy (Jay) Wright, Kimberly Rennert, Alexis Rennert, Jason Rosborough, Stephen (Tina) Rosborough, Chloe (Brayz) Coakley, Sarah Rosborough, Luke Althoff, and thirteen great-grandchildren—Dylan, Taylor, Josh, Caleb, Gracie, Kalie, Jaden, Kaitlyn, Aniyah, Lacey, Charlie, Violet, and Brayz.
Dean is survived by his three brothers, Glen, Wendell and Mike Rosborough, and two sisters Eleanor Moma and Sue Lorton.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis, his parents and an infant nephew.
Visitation will be held Friday September 9, 2022 from 10-11 am at Graceland/Fairlawn funeral home, Decatur, with memorial service following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to George R. Gahr Memory Care, Lincoln, Illinois.
