Deanna Cheryl Ramsey's Obituary
Decatur- Deanna Cheryl Ramsey, 67, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St Mary’s Hospital with her loving family at her bedside.
A service to celebrate the life of Deanna will be 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Forsyth, IL with a visitation one hour before the service. Interment with “Flight Home ceremony will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Deanna was born August 10, 1943 in King Fisher, Oklahoma the daughter of Charles and Lillie Mae( Klingsick) Forbes. Deanna was an active member of Our Reedemer Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 105, Illinois Womans Bowling Association, and a devoted supporter of the American Cancer Society and the Diabetes Association. She was a 20 year employee of Hi-Flier Kite Company and a 30 year employee of Bachrachs both in Decatur.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter; Tina Ramsey Marler and husband Delbert of Blue Mound, brothers; Mike Forbes and wife Barb of Sullivan and Jeff Forbes and wife Ruth of Casey, grandchildren; Robert Hartwell and wife Susan of Arab, Alabama, Donna Wiley Spears of Blue Mound, Steven Duane Spears of Decatur, great-grandchildren; Victoria Grace, Travis and Emili Hartwell, Steven Andrew Spears and Jacob Alan Gower, and many nieces and nephews. Best friends and sister’s in life, Edna Monk of Decatur, Gerry Lambert of Argenta, Joyce Mathias of Warrensburg, Lorna Rhodes of Cerro Gordo, and Margaret Neeves of Mt. Zion.
She was greeted into Heaven by her beloved companion Lloyd “Pete” Smith, parents, sisters; Connie Forbes Naron, and Cindy Forbes.
The family would like to thank, home care provider Kathy Weaver of Decatur, Rev. Dr. Ellen Moma of the First Christian Church of Blue Mound, and Pastor John Haffermann of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for their continued prayers and support over the past few years. Deanna loved her family, church family and friends dearly.
