Deborah Lynn Sherwood's Obituary
Deborah L. Sherwood passed away November 20, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria, Illinois of complications of COVID-19.
Deb was born in Davenport, Iowa on June 6, 1949 to Gene and Shirley Bell. The family moved to Oakley, Illinois. She graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in 1967, where she was a cheerleader and drum majorette. After graduation, she attended ISU in Bloomington and then SIU in Carbondale. She graduated Decatur Memorial School of Nursing in 1979. She worked both at Memorial Hospital in Springfield and DMH in Decatur, retiring after 35 years. She received a BS degree in Medical Management in 2008 from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Deb enjoyed cooking from scratch, her grandkids, her dogs, traveling, and mostly her Christian faith.
Surviving are her husband Scott E. Sherwood, MD; son Beau and Trish Rennix and grandkids Ashley, Taylor, and Chase, all of Parker, Colorado. Also surviving are her brothers Steven Bell and John Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 27 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 10:00am until the service. Memorials may be directed to Billy Graham Ministries. Condolences may be left for the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
