Delmar H. Kunz's Obituary
Decatur-Delmar H. “Dale” Kunz, 90, of Fanning Springs, Florida, formerly of Decatur, Illinois, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Gainesville, Florida.
Services to celebrate Delmar’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mitch Flesch officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at Graceland Cemetery. Delmar was born June 9, 1919 in Fillmore, Illinois the son of Cayus C. and Blanche (Harrison) Kunz. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, VFW, Moose, and the Bear’s Den in Fanning Springs, Florida. He was an avid card player especially pinochle and solitaire. He was great with his hands and enjoyed tinkering around the house. He married Blossom E. Worrell on August 30, 1969. She preceded him in death on July 16, 1986.
He leaves behind his grandchildren; Rhonda Kates and husband Ken of Decatur, Illinois, Tony Toberman and wife Donna of Highland, Illinois, Kent Toberman of Decatur, Illinois, Angie Fitzgerald of Ludlow, Vermont, and Karen Allen and husband Kris of Plainfield, Vermont, fifteen great-grandchildren with one on the way, sixteen great-great-grandchildren, and brothers; Leo and Howard Kunz.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, wife, son; David Kunz, daughter; Judy Toberman, brother; Raymond Kunz, and great-great-granddaughter; Faith.
