Delmar Eugene Ripley's Obituary
Delmar Eugene Ripley, 93, of Oreana, IL, passed away at 12:35 P.M. on Friday (04-12-2024) in his home.
Delmar was born on September 16, 1930, at home in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Alvie Eugene Ripley and Yula (Doetch) Ripley. He married Linda L. Botts on December 2, 1956, in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2008.
He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. Delmar attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Decatur, IL. He loved farming, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Delmar is survived by his children: April Renee Propst and husband Chris of Argenta, IL, Kevin Eugene Ripley and wife Tamara of Argenta, IL; Lynette Fay Ripley of Bend, OR; Sue Ann Ripley of Oreana, IL; six grandchildren: Angela Ritchie, Ryan Propst, Michael Ripley, Bradley Ripley, Laura Ripley, and Gage Ripley; five great-grandchildren: Jayden, Elena, Gavin, Grayson, and Thomas; two sisters: Phyllis Tripp and Chyrlan Staffey, both of Murphysboro, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda and two sisters: Betty Hicks and Frances Opp.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday (08-03-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until service time. The burial will be at Friends Creek Cemetery Argenta, IL. Military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
