Delores June Judd's Obituary
Springfield - Delores Judd, 72, of Springfield went home to God on Friday, January 7th.
She always said that being a mother was her greatest joy. She is survived by her three grateful and devoted children: Charles, Helen (Shane), and James (Dana). She was their best friend, teacher, staunchest advocate, and finest example of all that is good. She will always be their heart and inspiration.
Delores married Charles Sr. in 1968. He passed on in 2007.
She was very devoted to her beloved mother and her grandson Donovan Lee Petit, both of whom also preceded her to Heaven.
Her love and kindness extended to all of God’s creatures. She has graced the lives of so many animals throughout her life through the love of those who were her pets and through her work on behalf of the welfare of all animals. Duchess. Teddy, and Jema (her current “granddogs”) will miss her terribly. If you wish to honor her life and legacy, adopt a shelter pet in need of a good home, donate to an animal welfare charity, or volunteer with an organization such as the Animal Protective League or a similar group.
In addition to her children, Delores is survived by four siblings (Gloria, Shirley, Barb, and George), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Visitation for Delores will take place from 9:45 AM until 11:45 AM on Thursday, January 13th at
Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1020 North Milton Avenue) in Springfield.
Mass of Christian Burial for Delores will begin at Noon on Thursday, January 13th at the same location as the visitation. Father Richard Chiola will be the celebrant of the Mass.
A private burial service will take place later that day.
In addition to showing concern for animals, another way to honor Delores is to imitate her habit of greeting everyone she met with a smile and a kind word. As she has always known, even what might seem to be the smallest gesture of kindness and caring can make the most profound difference in someone’s life.
