Delores J Morisson Reed's Obituary
Delores J. Morrison Reed, 84, formerly of New London, IA, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Eastview Terrace, Sullivan, IL.
Delores was born on October 4, 1937, in Moulton, IA. She was the daughter of Ralph and Fern Tipton Morrison. In 1956 she married Robert Reed in New London, IA.
Delores loved being with her family and spent hours watching her grandchildren play baseball, softball, basketball, soccer and volleyball. She also enjoyed watching them perform in music recitals and theatrical performances. She loved playing cards like Bridge and Bunco with her friends and UNO with her grandchildren. She participated in Decatur’s All States Women Club activities. She also looked forward to watching major tennis matches and her favorite soap operas. One of the highlights of her life was meeting Regis Philbin at the Regis and Kelly Show in New York City.
Delores spent many years working as a companion to several people who loved her and appreciated the tender care that she provided them.
Surviving are her children: Terrie Bramley and husband, Fred of Venice, FL; Tom Reed and wife, Anita of Decatur, IL; Todd Reed and wife, Donna, of Lovington, IL and Tracy Walker and husband, Steve of Southampton, NJ. She was proud of all of her grandchildren: Carolyn Msica, Kristin Dzuranin, Matthew Bramley, Robert and Timothy Reed, Michael and Tiffany Reed, and Devan and Madison Walker. She was also blessed with nine great grandchildren.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Reed of Decatur, IL, parents, Ralph and Fern Morrison of New London, IA and brother, Doyle Morrison of Burlington, IA.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Eastview Terrace for their kind attention during the past three years to Delores’ medical and emotional needs.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in Burge Cemetery, New London, IA. Memorials can be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
