Delphine J. Rubin's Obituary
Decatur – Delphine J. Rubin, 86, of Decatur, passed away at 12:15 a.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015 in McKinley Court Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Delphine was born August 29, 1929 in St. Peter, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian (Gable) Moeller. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Delphine married Melvin C. Rubin on October 31, 1948 and they shared 67 wonderful years together.
She is survived by her husband, Mel of Decatur; son, Ronald Rubin of Chatham and daughter, Debra (John) Brosam of Decatur; grandson, Matthew (Amy) Rubin and granddaughter, Kathrine Rubin; great-granddaughters: Anya and Audrey. Delphine is also survived by a brother, Delmar and sister, Shirley Halverson; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
Services to celebrate Delphine’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Entombment will take place in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
