Dennis G. Hilderbrand's Obituary
Dennis G. Hilderbrand, 64, of Decatur, IL passed away August 5, 2023 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Dennis was born October 22, 1958 in Decatur, IL, the son of Milford and Wilma Eva (Barnes) Hilderbrand, SR. He married Christine Swearingen on January 4, 1991 in Decatur, IL.
Dennis was a veteran of the US Army. Following his military service he fulfilled a 20 plus years career as a union electrician with IBEW Local 193.
He enjoyed spending time with his family along with racing slot cars on his custom race track. He also enjoyed spending time working in his garage, gardening and loved his trucks.
Surviving are his wife, Christine; children Keri Fowler and husband, Bobby of Decatur, IL, DJ Hilderbrand and wife Bri of Decatur, IL; sister, Vicki Ernst and husband Charlie of Edgewood, IL; three grandchildren, Bobby Fowler IV, Daytona Altevogt and husband Cody, and Emmitt Hilderbrand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Milford Hilderbrand JR and sisters, Barbara Hinkle, Elizabeth Phillips, and Linda Sarver.
Funeral service will be 10 AM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home, casual dress would be appropriate. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Wednesday August 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park.
