Dennis Hill's Obituary
Loving husband, father, and friend Dennis Alan ”Denny” Hill, 67, of Forsyth, IL passed away Monday, August 26th at home in the arms of his wifeTerri.
Denny was born in Decatur, IL on March 29, 1952 to parents Eugene “Joe” and Norma Jean (Weikle) Hill. He attended and graduated from Argenta-Oreana schools where he was an outstanding athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. Denny continued his education at Eastern Illinois University graduating in 1970. He worked for Cisco Grain Co-op and Topflight Grain for 43 years before retiring in June of 2018.
On June 5, 1982 Denny married Terri Logue in Decatur. They enjoyed 37 beautiful years together and had two daughters who were the greatest joy of his life. Denny and his family were avid sports fans – especially devoted to their beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Denny was greeted in heaven by his father, Joe Hill. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Terri, daughters Jessica Hill and Meghan (Keith) Bumgardner, his mother Jean Hill, brothers John (Paula) Hill, and Bob Hill as well as his canine grandson Padgett. In addition to family, Denny leaves behind countless friends including cherished friends Mike & Sue Ferrill and Doug & Kitty McCarthy who loved and supported him and his family throughout his battle with ALS.
Services will be at 10 am on Friday, August 30th at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur with longtime friend Pastor Ken Whitten officiating. Graveside services will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta. Friends are invited to join the family for Celebration of Life at 1:00-3:00 pm Friday at the Friends Creek Community Building in Argenta. Denny would want everyone to be comfortable so please feel free to wear casual clothing such as golfwear or UK gear.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Denny’s memory to Pawprint Ministries Comfort Dogs or Jane’s (Jane Calmes) Angel Fund which supports ALS patients and their families.
