Dennis Wayne VonHatten's Obituary
Dennis Wayne VonHatten, 70, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020, in his home.
Dennis was born August 6, 1949, in Decatur, IL to Louis Henry and Charlotte May (Edwards) VonHatten. He married Theresa Marie Korando on August 20, 1978 in Mt. Zion, IL. Dennis loved fishing, rebuilding computers, riding motorcycles and he practiced the great commission.
He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Theresa; his four children, Louis (Bethany) VonHatten, Crystal (Jason Russell) VonHatten, Sean Cox and Kelli (Doug) Kerr; his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Trina VanLoh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Louis VonHatten.
Honoring Dennis’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Dennis on Saturday, July 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Theresa and Dennis’s home. The family would like memorials to be directed to Illinois Conservation Foundation c/o Clinton Lake State Recreation Area 7251 Ranger Road, DeWitt, IL 61735.
