Derald G Logan's Obituary
Derald G. Logan, 84, of Decatur, IL passed away February 9, 2023 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Derald was born July 30, 1938, in Decatur, IL, the son of John R. and Gladys Mae (Long) Logan. He married Doris (Duncan) O’Bryan in 1976.
Derald had worked as a welder for the railroad. Following his retirement, he spent much time farming livestock. He always considered his livestock as friends. and always looked forward to taking care of them. He was also a dog lover and raised German Shepherd puppies.
Derald and his brother, Gerald, also known as, Biggy and Tiny, loved spending time together in the coffee shops.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; children, Paul Logan of Decatur, IL, Vicki Grider (Kerwin) of Weldon, IL; step daughter, Dianna Pugsley (Phillip) of Decatur, IL; siblings, Mary Regan of Decatur, IL, Darlene Logan of Arkansas, Junior Logan of Decatur, IL, Tom Logan (Jan) of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Shelby Hale (Cory), Dillon Logan (Jenny), Alex Grider (Krystal), Ben Grider (Raissa), Mackenzie Naber (Seth), Sean Trimmer (Heather), Heather Monson, Bradley Clark, Kelly Oliver (Michael) and several great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Marianne Trimmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 4 sisters and step-son, Dan Trimmer .
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park.
