Derrell E. Spiker's Obituary
Derrell E. Spiker Sr., 86, of Quincy formerly of Decatur passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Derrell was born on September 24, 1929 in Decatur the son of Charles and Verna (Von Alman) Spiker. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and the Illinois National Guard. He retired from Caterpillar and was a member of the VFW Post 99.
Surviving are his children, Derrell Spiker Jr. (Sheila) of Lakeland, GA; David Spiker (Resa) of Decatur; Daniel Spiker (Sue) of Macon; Candace Skelley (Dan) of Maroa Robert Spiker (Donna) of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Charles, and one grandson.
Services to celebrate Derrell’s life will be private in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Blessings Hospital Hospice in Quincy.
