Derrick Duane Ewell's Obituary
Derrick Ewell, 53, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2025.
Born in Decatur, Illinois, on March 19, 1972, Derrick was the cherished youngest son of Jerry and Beverly Booten Ewell. He was a proud graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and carried the values of his upbringing with him throughout his life.
On July 21, 2021, Derrick married Beckah Novak, at his favorite place—Lake of the Ozarks. Derrick was a proud and loving father to his sons, Jake and Grady, who he bragged about every chance he had. He was a long-term employee of ADM Cogen and a proud union member of Teamsters 916.
Derrick was preceded in death by his grandparents; infant twin siblings; his sister, Natalie; and his own beloved twins, Owen and Kate.
Derrick is survived by his wife, Beckah; sons, Jake and Grady; his parents, Jerry and Beverly; his sister, Deitra (Bob) White; many other family and friends; and his faithful Gampr dog, Molly.
He will be remembered for his deep love for his family and his kindness to those in need.
A graveside service will be held for Derrick at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
