Derrick Curtis Kline's Obituary
Derrick Curtis Kline, 30, of Pana, Illinois, formerly of Monticello, passed away December 23, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Derrick was born in Decatur, Illinois, on May 11, 1995, the son of Joseph and Sandra (Jenkins) Kline. Derrick was a beloved uncle to scores of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He, in turn, was so proud of being an uncle that he kept finding more reasons to love it, and he listed those reasons on his t-shirt. He enjoyed playing video games, watching WWE wrestling, and checking out Corvettes. Most of all, he loved being around people, especially his family. He brought light and joy to all he met. He will be greatly missed.
Derrick is survived by his mother Sandy of Monticello; siblings Eric (Laura) Kline of Tallahassee, FL, Bobbie Kline of Monticello, IL, Marcena (Virgil) Shockley of Cerro Gordo, IL, Amanda (Audrie) Kline of LaPlace, IL, Bryan Kline of Mahomet, IL, Jerry Kline of Kankakee, IL, and Hailey Kline of Monticello, IL; special buddy Brayden Copeland; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, brother-in-law Brian Klay, and great-niece Riley Burt.
Services for Derrick will be held on Friday, January 2, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2pm and will be followed by a service at 3pm. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
