Where do I even begin with Diamond? For starters she was a true saint! I met her at St Mary’s Hospital when she volunteered. She went out of her way every morning to make my day special. Throughout the years I got to know her personally and a friendship developed. What a special child of God I soon found out she was. We had lots of talks throughout the years. I later found out her granddaughter Kim was a classmate of mine and we stayed in touch even after graduation. Diamond enjoyed the connection I had with her granddaughter. Diamond, to me, I would place with the Saints of the Bible. Yes, I mean that! We had many talks throughout the years and she always had the perfect words that actually spoke to me no matter good or bad the topic was. Her words also changed my life. I’m sitting here smiling remembering when she had nothing to drop off in the department I worked at, she always stopped in for a little chat about life. She said “I have nothing for you today, but I wanted to just say hello and see if you have an updated picture of your dog on your computer?” Her laughter following was beyond measure. We ended up talking about life and the Blessings God has given us. I would give anything to have let Diamond know that God Blessed me with you here at the hospital which I never told her. I don’t think I needed too because we both knew it. What a true Saint of God she was. I do thank God for allowing me to share the mornings with her. She was a breath of fresh air to me. Kim, my heart breaks for you and your family. Please know this, Diamond was one heck of a God loving woman. My prayers are with Diamonds family.
