Diana L. Brown's Obituary
Diana L. Brown, 58, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in her home with her family by her side.
Diana was born April 6, 1957 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Naomi R. Small and step-father Robert W. Buchen. She was raised in Mt. Pulaski. She was a home care worker for many years. Diana was a Christian woman and loved to read the bible and sing. She loved to do crafts and spend time outdoors planting and playing in the dirt. She loved to go to the park with children and grandchildren for a day of fun in the sun. She loved to travel and see new places. She enjoyed going to Steak N Shake for coffee with friends. She always had a smile on her face even on her bad days. Diana was a true giver her whole life and always worried about everyone’s needs. She taught us all so many things about life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Diana leaves behind her children Mylynndia Stone, Chanel Heath, and Larry Heath, grandchildren Camden, Katelyn “Kt Bug”, and Javonnie, loving sister Lisa Bradshaw and husband Claude, four sisters, ten brothers, special friend Theresa, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, care givers, and staff at Cancer Care and DMH Hospice and to Pastor Hansbro and church family at Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church for all of their prayer and support.
Diana was a true fighter and woman of faith. We were blessed to have her in our lives. We love you always and forever.
Services to celebrate Diana’s life will be 1 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, January 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
