Diane A. Hicks' Obituary
Diane A. Hicks, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Decatur, IL. Born on June 8, 1947, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of William E. Dondeville, Sr. and Celestina M. (Shaner) Dondeville.
Diane married her beloved husband, Gary Hicks, on June 9, 1966, in Decatur, IL. The couple loved to travel, taking every chance to share a car ride together. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dog-lover and cardinal-lover, but above all else, she loved her family.
Diane is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gary Hicks; children: Douglas (partner, Kelly Burbridge) Hicks, Christopher Hicks, and Sonya (Ryan) Lancaster; grandchildren: Keera (fiancé, Jacob) Taylor, Sarah (Tyler) Salefski, Drew Hicks, Dylan Fleming, Gage Franklin, and Gavin Franklin; great-grandson, Luke Salefski; brother, Robert "Bob" (Beverly) Dondeville; and brother-in-law, Don Hicks.
Diane was preceded in death by two brothers: Billy Dondeville, Jr., and Howard Dondeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
