Dolores I. Taylor's Obituary
Decatur-Dolores I. Taylor, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 in her home with her husband and family by her side.
She was born March 31, 1931 in Casey County, Kentucky the daughter of Otha B. Roberts and her mother who passed away during her birth. Along with her father she was raised by his second wife of Edna (Shaffer) Roberts. She retired from Castaways. Dolores was a fifty year member of Garver Brick Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved all animals, feeding birds, flowers, and reading. She married David E. Taylor February 7, 1964. They shared over forty-nine years together.
She leaves behind her beloved husband David, sister Helena 'Ruthie' Hawbaker, nieces and nephews Amy Comiskey and husband Dave, Kristy DeBoer and husband Jerry, Kurt Roberts and wife Shannon, Kelly Willson and husband Roger, Bradley Hawbaker and wife Nicci, and Brian Hawbaker and wife Beth.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, infant son, and brother Asa Roberts.
Services to celebrate Dolores' life will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Garver Brick UMC, 5280 Garver Church Road, with Pastor Buzz Swett officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Garver Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Garver Brick UMC.
