Donald Allen Davis' Obituary
Donald Allen Davis, 81, of Oreana passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born August 13, 1932 in Flora, IL, the son of Frank and Gladys (Owens) Davis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He will always be remembered tinkering in his garage as an amateur inventor, and his love for playing Pac-Man. In his spare time, he cherished spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing the lottery. He married Rosalee Creekmur in December, 1972 in Decatur, IL. They shared 40 wonderful years of their lives together.
Donald leaves behind his wife, Rosalee of Oreana; sons, Mark (Jo Ann) Davis of Green Bay, VA; Jeff (Lisa) Davis of Cofield, NC; Jeff (Melissa) Jackson of Decatur, IL; daughters, Teresa (Russ) Driver of Colfax, WA; Myra (David) Smith of Farmer City, IL; Kim (Gary) Nein of Argenta, IL; brother, Wally Davis of Decatur; sister, Mildred Frost of Xenia, IL; grandchildren, Jason Davis, Randi Knowles, Mike Knowles, Celestino (Emily) Ruffini, Jennifer Ruffini, Justin Volker, Brandon (friend Lori Eades) Nein, Dylan Nein, Grady Nein, Jeff (Felicia) Davis Jr., and Melissa (Darren) Haesley; great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Davis, Lucus Davis, Audrey Givens, Jailee Forman, and Briella Nein.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Davis, Harold Davis, Leonard Davis; sister, Dorothy Ryker; and granddaughter, Patty Davis.
Memorial services to celebrate Donald’s life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Donald may be made to DMH Cancer Care Institute for breast cancer. Family would like to request people to wear casual attire for the services.
