Donald D. McMillen's Obituary
Donald D. McMillen, 85, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Fair Haven’s Christian Home.
Don was born on September 19, 1931 in Decatur the son of Glenn and Loraine (Tolly) McMillen. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a member of Decatur First Church of the Nazarene. He married Mary Blackman on October 1, 1954 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary; sons, Jeffrey McMillen (Jamie) of Macon; David McMillen (Shelley) of Foristell, MO; daughter, Jennifer Harris (Bart) of Decatur; eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson.
He was a generous, loving, larger than life man. A father to those in need. He wanted to see people needs taken care of. He loved to travel and live life to its fullest and was always ready with a story of some adventure he’d had.
Service to celebrate Don’s life will be 11 AM Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery with entombment to follow. Visitation will be 10 –11 AM Monday in the mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to Decatur First Church of the Nazarene.
