Donald R Guffey's Obituary
Donald R Guffey, 88, of Decatur passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Heritage Manor in Mt. Zion surrounded by his family.
Donald was born on June 19, 1927 in Brownstown, IL the son of Ray and Bertha (Sickles) Guffey. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He retired after 35 years from the Sanitary District of Decatur. He enjoyed going fishing. He married Dorothy Gilman on April 28, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2013.
Surviving are sons, Larry Guffey (Lori) of Murfreesboro, TN; Ronald Guffey (Vicki) of Decatur; daughter, Stephanie Stukins of Decatur; sons-in-law, Frank Bradshaw of Mt. Zion; Darell Crawley of Rockford; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Loretta Crawley and Charlene Bradshaw; son-in-law, David Stukins; two brothers, four sisters.
Funeral service to celebrate Donald’s life will be 11 AM Thursday October 1, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Greenwood officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maroa Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Resurrection Life Youth Camp.
