Forsyth-Donald S. Lambert, 84, of Forsyth passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Aspen Ridge Care Center.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donald will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the time of the service, Rev. Dr. James Montgomery to officiate the Service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 204 W. Prairie, Decatur, Illinois 62523. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Donald was born January 27, 1926 in Ainsworth, Iowa the son of Samuel and Opal (Nicholson) Lambert. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S Army in both WWII and the Korean War where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, EAMET Ribbon, and the Bronze Star Medal. He worked for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he retired after 30 years of service. Donald married Masako Wada in Yokohama, Japan, June 1, 1951.
Left behind to cherish his memory, are his wife, Masako; daughters, Margi Nicholson and husband Doug of Decatur, and Cynthia Charbonneau and husband Terry of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Reyman and husband Ryan, Chris Reyman, Kate Swope and husband Michael, and B.J. Charbonneau; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Chase.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Faye Knight.
